Hello Friends.
My name is Nicole Wilson. I am a teacher who loves to teach. Currently, I teach at La Ballona School in Culver City, CA. Our school is a title one school with a very diverse population. In the 4 years I have been teaching, I have taught in TK (4&5 year olds) for 2 years, Kindergarten for one year, Fourth Grade for one year and this year I move up to Fifth Grade. I am excited to inspire this age group to explore thier own potential while building character and learning the responsibilities of being the oldest kids on campus.
During my many trainings, I applied for a grant for 6 chromebooks for my little ones to introduce them to how technology can be used to individualize the learning process. I was happy to recieve the grant and the chromebooks.
However, now that I am moving to fifth grade, it is important I have enough for my 30 (yes, you got that right) students to work individually on them for class lessons. It is more and more important for kids to be literate not only in reading and writing and math, but also technology. I will need 25 more chromebooks to complete my set, along with a locked storage charging station to hold them. My students will check them in and out each day. The sooner I can get these chromebooks into my students hands, the sooner we will be able to maximize our time together in the classroom.
I have a great group of kids with all levels of income, race, intellect and special needs. It is my belief that each one of my kids can be successful no matter their situation if I do my job keep them engaged. You can help me do that. Your kind donation can impact hundreds of kids in just the next few years. I have a long career ahead of me and with your help, we can give these kids a chance to thrive.
