Paterson resident Tanisha Frazier is almost Seattle bound for the Miss Plus USA Competition. The Miss Plus USA Competition is a national multiphase competition for unmarried women ages 20-30 and Teens ages 14-19 who wear a double-digit size. The mission is to provide a platform and opportunity for the average size woman through tasteful competition, requiring a healthy lifestyle, class, eloquence and volunteerism. The goal is that each participant gains confidence, and the ability to properly represent themselves and the cause they are most passionate about, equipping them with skills and an experience that will last a lifetime!

Her platform is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS). Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS is an incurable disorder that affects 1 in 10 women and over 50% do not know they have it.

It is the most common endocrine cause of infertility and serious weight gain in women. PCOS can also cause acne, oily skin, dandruff, increased growth of hair on face but male pattern baldness, skin tags, pelvic pain, anxiety, depression, sleep apnea and more.

The more than 50% that do not know they have PCOS are in danger of Diabetes or Pre-Diabetes, Risk of Heart Attack is 4-7x higher, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Endometrial Cancer, Increased Risk of Breast Cancer and Heart Disease.
