Hello friends and family!
As many of you know I have been finishing my Masters in the Art of Teaching ( MAT)  and a full residency year with AUSL this year.  As of now I have tentatively (assuming I graduate and cps funds my position) been offered a teaching Job at Lewis School of excellence in the Austin Neighborhood of Chicago.  I will be teaching either 3, 4 or 5th grade and have approx. 50 to 60 students next year. I am beyond excited to take this next step in my journey and look forward to meeting my new babies!

I am asking my friends and family for help! My school is especially high need and is 98.5% low income. This means that many of my little ones will not be able to afford basic school supplies at the beginning of the year.

I am raising money first and foremost to provide 50 students with Pencils, Pens, notebooks, crayons, glue and scissors.

I am also going to use this money to finish building my library, buy chart paper, a class set of 2 novels ( to be determined),  an easel, bean bag chairs for library area, book shelves ( if needed),   book listening stations for below grade level readers ( this would consist of audio books head phones  and an ipad/ ipod), curtains ( mandated by my network) and reading lamps, and literacy games etc.

There is much more that I will need for my class to be a success in the coming months, but I appreciate all of your help getting started! Thank you to everyone who had donated in the past! You have made my job easier and you have already helped me to change the lives of new students!

Love you,
Crystal Pierce

My space is bright and clean and ready for some Ms. Pierce magic!! Bad news most of the bookshelves are in worse shape than I thought. Please help me create an awesome library corner with bean bags and shelves that stay put and have backs on them. I know we can do this!!
