Hi, I'm Jillian and, “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas...”
Actually, this Christmas I have the opportunity to take a break from Ohio’s snow and freezing temperatures, and instead spend Christmas break with my family. I haven’t been back in Nigeria since I left a year and a half ago to start college, and this is their last Christmas in Nigeria. It would mean so much to me to be able to spend Christmas with my family, and to be able to say goodbye to the country where I grew up.
In addition to spending time with my family, there are some ministry opportunities for me during the few weeks I’d be there. One of the things I’m planning on doing is teach a seminar on anatomy and physiology. I obviously cannot teach something in just a few days what I’ve been studying for almost a year, so this would be a very brief overview. However, studying this subject has left me more curious and more in awe of our Creator, and I’d love to be able to impart even just a little of my enthusiasm.
I’m also planning to attend SIM’s annual conference for their missionaries during the first week of January. This year I’d be going to serve the teen missionary kids. It’s a great time for missionary kids to spend time together, study the Bible, and be ministered to. I was able to go for a couple years, and it was a refreshing time for me spiritually and emotionally, so I’d love to be able to bless the missionary kids who are still there.
Of course, I need your help to be able to go. I would definitely appreciate your prayers as I prepare for this trip, and I ask that you please prayerfully consider supporting me financially as well. Here is a list of the cost:
