Miss Maine Teen USA State Finalist

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Valerianne Hinkley and I have been selected as a State Finalist for the Miss Maine Teen USA Pageant!

I am a 15 year old sophomore at Mt. Blue High School and live in Wilton, Maine.  I am entering my second term as a class of 2020 student council member, carry a GPA of a 3.7 and earned my academic letter this past school year along with my varsity sports letter.  I take both honors classes and CP classes.  This fall I will be starting a group/club at school with the help of a teacher advisor to bring awareness of bullying and taking a stand against it. I, myself have been a victim of bullying which has shown me that it doesn't matter who you are, what sports you play, if you get good grades or not, anyone can be a victim of bullying.  I don't just want to help victims but also those who have bullied because anyone can change.  My goal is to raise awareness and educate schools and communities on what we all can do to stop bullying.  This past May I did post it notes on all 800 +- lockers in the high school of positive messages such as you are awesome, you are beautiful, you are loved and more. I also hung over 50 posters with positive messages on the school walls and bathrooms, a project I hope to continue each year.  In my recent experiences I reached out to Ridin Steel - Bikers Against Bullying to see what I needed to get more information and help in our area.

I have also been selected to be a part of the UMF Upward Bound program to help me achieve my goal of college by getting me ready with offering guidance on classes, college tours, help applying for financial aid and so much more which is amazing.

I am a varsity football and competition cheerleader. Cheerleading has been a part of my life since I was 4 years old and I hope to continue cheering even when I am in college.  I was co-captain of the middle school competition cheering team my 8th grade year.  I also took part in our High School math team for half a year.

In my free time I spend time reading, writing, fishing, tumbling, talking about anti bullying, visiting our local animal shelter, hanging  out with family and friends.  I also work 2 part time jobs during the summer which I have been saving money for this pageant and my first car.

I am extremely honored to be a state finalist for Miss Maine Teen USA and to not only represent my community but our great state of Maine, however I am in need of help as this opportunity does cost more than I make at my part time summer job. I have amazing parents who support me and all my dreams and goals, but this is something I want to do myself so I am looking to raise the money on my own with help from all of you.  No amount is too small.

All donations will go towards expenses required by the organization, you could even contact the organization directly to make a donation in my name.  Donations will go towards my pageant fees, hotel costs for pageant weekend, meals, headshots and clothing which will include a introduction dress, interview wear, active wear and an evening gown.

The Miss Teen Maine USA pageant will be held in Portland, Maine on November 25th-26th at the Marriott Sable Oaks. I hope to see many of you there.

Thank you for your kindness and support. Any donation is greatly appreciated by my family & I.

Please share with all your friends and family ❤️  I will be doing frequent updates on my journey so please check back ❤️
