Miss Gabby Cat is sick

This is Miss Gabby Cat. She will be 19 years old in March. My daughter has had Gabby since she was a kitten. She has always been very healthy, with very few trips to the vet. Over the past few months she’s developed problems eating, and the vet believes she has an abscessed tooth. We’ve tried one round of antibiotics, which worked for a while, but the infection has returned. Last night, I got home from work and she could barely walk. She was stumbling with nearly every step. When I offered her food, she refused it. So, back we went to the vet. They need to put her under anesthesia to take some x-rays, clean her teeth, and probably pull at least one, if not more.

The vet has quoted me between $375 and $587 in charges. It is 5 days before Christmas, and I have 3 grandchildren that I have already spent my savings on for presents. The vet says that for an 18 year old cat, she’s amazingly healthy, except for this infection. If we can get her mouth healthy she probably has several years left. I am not ready to lose this sweet girl, especially not at Christmas time, over something so easily fixed. 

I never thought I’d be asking strangers for money to treat my cat, but I’m kind of desperate now. If you could find it in your heart to donate even $5 to $10, anything will help.
