Hello everyone! I have been accepted to compete for the title: Miss Black America  2018. I have been told since I was a little girl that I should compete for Miss America or that I should be President--well this is equally significant to those positions, and it would mean so much to me if, in honor of my birthday coming soon (July 21), that you would support me in my journey! I have always been considered a leader academically and in my personal life. I am a rising senior at Amherst College, but this summer I have decided to take 2 years off to pursue my entrepreneurial dreams and any other dreams I have had, which includes compete in a national pageant of leadership, intelligence, and natural beauty that celebrates individual heritage. Thus, in competing for the title of Miss Black America, my goals include the ability to improve homeless programs and job/housing accessibility, get financial literacy. leadership, and entrepreneurship programs in schools, churches, and universities, especially in impoverished communities where many of our youth and young adults would never dream of having access to these opportunities. I also hope to develop a scholarship and grant for talented, hardworking youth in impoverished, low-income/high-need, and first gen communities. I desire to develop a program in which I create jobs, fair wages, and nutritional programs for the most impoverished communities as well, many of which I have already done research on, am currently writing a book about, and plan to implement upon winning Miss Black America. But I need your help to get there. Every dollar counts! My goal is ~$2,000 dollars, but if I could raise more, every dollar will help for pageant, travel, transport, and attached expenses. If I win, not only will I gain support for my business (Born to Be Unique Consulting) and my non-profit: To Save a Life, but I will get ample opportunities to live out my dreams and garner support for all of my individual projects: homeless programs ,  entrepreneurship programs for youth and young adults, and my empowerment podcast.
