My name is Kennedy Whisenant and I am currently Miss Birmingham Teen USA 2018. I will compete in the Miss Alabama Teen USA 2018 Pageant November 3-4, 2017. I can’t wait to represent my wonderful city in the state competition, and should things go as well as I hope, the livestreamed Miss Teen USA Pageant in 2018.
I want to be Miss Alabama Teen USA to inspire children that are being bullied. As a young girl, I had an eye condition called Ptosis. It made one of my eyes appear smaller than the other. I was bullied almost daily. After corrective surgery, the bullying persisted at times. The loving support of my family and friends helped me to continue to believe all my dreams are possible. I would like other children to know their dreams are possible too. I spend a great deal of time visiting with children in the Birmingham City School System reading to them and sharing my story to encourage them. I want to expand my message to reach many more children. As Miss Alabama Teen USA 2018, it will give me a larger platform to bring awareness to this issue!
