Miracle for Uncle Mikie

For those of you who dont already know last Friday January 20th Mike fell during PT. He coded for 32 minutes and received CPR for 22 minutes. Mikie is currently in the ICU at Saint Luke's South on a ventilator and in critical condition. He has/is receiving multiple tests, and scans daily. Below is a timeline of updates.
January 20th: Mikie was put into an induced coma and they started the process of putting Mikie into an induced hypothermic state(32.4 degrees celsius) to reduce damage to his brain and organs.
January 21st: They finally got his temperature down to 32.4 celsius. They kept him like this until 4pm when they slowly started to bring his temperature back up.
January 22nd: Mikie's temp was back up to normal temperature around 7am and they removed all coma inducing drugs in hopes that he would wake up within the next 72 hours on his own.
January 23rd: Mikie is in a-fib and still in coma (without receiving inducing medication). Very little movements which were likely reflexes and not voluntary movements. They did an EEG this evening to evaluate brain activity.
January 24th: No real changes. The temperature control pads were removed this morning and they did an hour long respiratory test switching off the ventilator and having him on only a c-pap. Mikie did okay but he still needs to be on the ventilator. The results from the EEG showed seizures, they put him on a seizure medication called keppra and will re-do the EEG this evening.
January 25th: No new updates at this time. I will update as we have more news.
We are not sure what the future holds for Mikie and his recovery. At this point there are still a lot of unknown answers. As Lory spends all of her time at the hospital caring for Mike we would like to encourage those of you who can to help support her with a donation.
