Help me get Minou Belzebuth inside!

Seems straigtforward enough; just let the dang cat in right? He wants to, YOU want to. Squirrels, raccoons and cats steal his food . He likes you. Winter is lurking. He needs in! So what's the problem here? How many head butts do you need from this poor creature?

Minou is a 4 year old feral that was trapped, neutered, vaccinated, vetted and returned to my yard Oct. 10th. Unfortunatly, he tested positive for FIV but was deemed fit enough to be released by the vet at Montreal's SPCA where this was all done. I was told FIV cats do best inside, or at least inside part time. I provide good food, blankets, lysine supplements and all the forhead rubs he can handle. All he needs now is a safe warm home. He will be less prone to get infections if he is not beat up by weather... and other critters.

I was initialy told i needed to protect my inside cat from FIV by getting her vaccinated. But then i spoke to my own vet and she told me the risk of contamination thought big bites is slim if the introductions between the two cats is done slowly and properly. Apparently, the available FIV right now might not be that effective. However, my inside cat will need to receive the basic shots now instead of in 2 years due to her circumstances changing (soon being in direct contact with Minou) That is still 200$.

Here's the fun part; my flat is not appropriate for multiple cats because i am a dog person who did not plan to rescue one, let alone two cats. There are no 'high up' places to observe from and retreat to as it was never needed (or so i thought). But now it is imperative that i create such spaces for territorial reasons for them both to feel secure, escape routes in the form of shelving. For that, i will need lumber and carpet and all the thingamajigs i will need to make shelves (may the gods help me with that) and a 6 foot tall cat tree. Long story short, however fascinating cat psychology (and fussiness) is, it can be complex and environment is so very important to prevent unhappiness for all, fights, and territorial marking (ew) Point is;more fees, and quite frankly, that whole business with not working for 11 months due to a funky shoulder had left me in debt. Can't afford to 'catify' my place. This is embarrassing, but i'm in that space.

I'm sure you have all given to more worthy causes and i know times are tough. And i know some of you might wonder why i want to take that cat in when i can't afford it. I can only say i can't afford not to. That cat has chosen to trust me. He needs help and a safe warm place to rest. I can't let him down.

So i'm asking for your help. And any amount will help.

I thank you!
