MINERS SUPPORTING PIURA PERU ♥

Hello everyone! My name is Elizabeth Montes; I am a current UTEP Civil Engineering Undergraduate and I would like to collect money to help and support people in Piura, Peru. During the last summer I was lucky enough to be part of the Global Engineering Program at UTEP and at UDEP (Universidad de Piura). The people you see in these pictures opened the doors of their houses to me and my fellow UTEP students while we took a 2 week course in Piura, Peru. Unfortunately, due to the natural disaster that Peru is going through right now, my peruvian family and many other families in Peru are passing through a very rough time and have evacuated their homes at this point. I have attached the pictures of the neighborhood we stayed during our visit to Piura. It breaks my heart to see those pictures because 3 of my UTEP friends actually lived in that house in the pictures for 2 wonderful weeks. My peruvian family was very generous, kind, and sympathetic to me while I was staying with them. Therefore, the least I can do for them is try to help them when they are in need. I am kindly asking for your support, no matter how much you can donate for my cause, it is greatly appreciated! What may be very little for you can mean a lot for these people in need! #minersaremadeformore.

This is me, Paloma Zamarripa (UTEP student and my roomate), Gabriel (our peruvian little brother), Carmen, Gerardo and Jomme (another foreign student that lived with us).
In this picture you can see my peruvian aunt on the back, she also hosted 2 UTEP students Erik Lopez with the glasses and Arturo Catalan (blue shirt on the left). On the right you can see Paloma and me.

This is the house where 3 of my UTEP friends stayed last summer.

As you can see, they are going through a tough situation. The money I collect will be donated to UDEP (Universidad de Piura) which will distribute this money to the people in Piura in the form of food, water and parts to replace the roof of houses. I will get the money to Luisa Ruiz-Mendoza who is our UTEP connection with UDEP to deliver the donations. Please help at least to spread the word about this fundraiser by sharing it with as many people as you can! Your support is greatly appreciated!
