Mind Murmur is an ambitious art installation combining neuro-technology and meditation. We debuted at Burning Man last year, a wonderful and challenging journey! This year, we're making improvements and bringing our art back to Burning Man 2019.
But we need your help!
This year, we must purchase a new laptop and other items. Mind Murmur exists through the love and sweat of our fiercely creative crew. But with no grants or corporate sponsorship, your contribution is crucial and deeply appreciated.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Beneath a glowing pyramid, a seasoned meditator sits peacefully in lotus position, wearing an EEG headset. As their meditation deepens, the pyramid pulses and responds. Learn more: https://dinafisher.net/mind-murmur/index.php
Brainwave Controlled
Alpha and Theta brainwaves bloom into rich fractal art and morphing video, illuminating the pyramid's walls. A glittering EEG-responsive chandelier cascades color and light down from the pyramid’s pinnacle, toward the meditator's head.

EEG-synced Sound
Participants hear and feel the meditator's heartbeat magnified into deep-bass, mixed with a lush soundscape sampled from nature, space, anthropology archives, sacred tunes, and Burners murmuring self-authored prayers.
Interconnection
We'll translate into sound and visuals the beauty and mind-opening experience of meditation, focusing on non-ownership of consciousness.

We had an awe-inspiring experience creating Mind Murmur from scratch last year. We overcame intense challenges and hurdles to combine emerging technology with art and brain science. It took at least 30 people to make it all happen, including talented programmers, brain scientists, builders, artists, seamstresses, carpenters, and audio-visual experts.
This year, we're making improvements to stabilize our technology, including porting from Windows to Linux. This means we'll need a new laptop and accompanying peripherals. Along with that major expense, we'll also need to repaint our wooden protective boxes, buy new air filters, pay for gasoline, get new solar lights, etc.
