Monarchs for Mindy!

This is my sister-in-law Mindy. She is 42 years young and has end stage metastatic  breast cancer. Like a caterpillar changing into a butterfly she has been struggling for the last three years. Her battle will end soon though and she will fly away from her cancerous chrysalis and be free!   

I started this go fund me to help create a living memorial for her. Something that will live on and continue to grow after she’s gone. 

Mindy and I have more in common than just a certain redhead that I married. We both share a love for wildlife & nature. We love native plants and the role they play in our environment. So, I would like to buy some milkweed from the Audubon Society’s native plant center as well as another native plant nursery. I know this is what Mindy would want and would make her happy. 

We would like plant a butterfly garden in her honor. Milkweed supports the lives of many bees, insects, & butterflies; especially the Monarch. The Monarch is Mindy’s favorite and it cannot survive without milkweed.  In addition to planting the garden, we will be giving away milkweed to her friends, coworkers, neighbors, and anyone that knew her!

Each plant that we give away will support those hungry caterpillars and give them the strength to become beautiful butterflies. Mindy will be thrilled to know that you all helped save these beautiful creatures and that you did it in her honor! 

Please help me make this living memorial possible for Mindy and for everyone who has cancer or has lost someone to cancer. May they always have flowers.
