Mildred E. Walker(Mom)  was a pioneer and trailblazer of her generation.  She was an educator of 20 years in the Little Rock School District and a community activist in the College Station Community for many years after her retirement.  She was responsible for the creation of the College Station Literacy Program where she assisted many in this community learn to read for the very first time, as well as assisting many to obtain their GED. The Learning Lab where she held her program went on for many years with lasting results.  She was also responsible for spearheading the College Station Home-coming celebrations which will be celebrating its 35 year anniversary this July 4th, 2015.  Last but not least she was responsible for the creation of the College Station Newsletter that is being read by hundreds across the United States to this day.  Mom transitioned into her heavenly home Oct 4th, 2014, it is in her honor that we are establishing this scholarship fund as a lasting legacy in her name.   It will be used to give assistance to worthy young people in this community in hopes of assisting them with their college or trade school education.  Your gifts are sincerely appreciated and thank you for your heart-felt support.
