People say it takes a village to raise a child; to fill in gaps here and there and pick up the slack when parents are at the end of their ropes. This village is what provides extra encouragement, strength, stability, comfort, and consistency.

 Our community is blessed upon measure with mighty pillars that hold it up and come alongside its families to support and nurture its children. We’re strong and our children are strong because of the people who devote their lives to pouring into all of the facets of who we are. Without any debate, one of the mightiest pillars of our beloved community is Mike Volz.

One would be hard-pressed to find someone in Arkadelphia and our surrounding communities that wouldn’t recognize Mike’s hearty laughter, his kindhearted demeanor, and his playful nature. He is a friend, cheerleader, role model, and constant example of hard work, dedication, dependability, and enthusiasm to countless of our community’s children, youth, and their families. He is never seen without a smile, never met without acknowledging the people around him, and never at a lack for conversation. He is undeniably gifted in making everyone feel noticed and important, and he is always on the ready to give the shirt off his back or drop everything to help someone who may need it. He has created a safe place for the children of Arkadelphia and their families just in their knowing him, and he has mastered what very few have—being a loyal and stable father, partner, friend, and leader.

Mike Volz is our village. He is who we want our children to have in their corner. His legacy is exactly what makes our community great.
