Kidney transplant for our dad

Donation protected

25 years ago, our dad was lucky enough to receive a kidney and pancreas transplant. He has lived far beyond any doctor’s expectations and our family is blessed that he has been able to watch all four of his children walk across high school and college graduation stages, witness one of his sons marry the love his life, and celebrate 40 beautiful years of marriage to our incredible mom, Patty. These are simple life events that are true treasures to our family.

His kidney is now rapidly failing and he urgently needs another transplant. His name is on a 3-5 year waiting list to receive a new kidney but unfortunately, he does not have that much time. We’re overwhelmed by the amount of healthy family members and friends who have offered to be a donor and we are praying that someone ends up being a match.

From our perspective, he still has three more weddings to witness, a list of grandpa duties to fulfill for his first grandson (entering the world this Christmas!), and a whole life ahead of him that we’re going to fight to the ground to give to him.

He is our hero. If you have had the pleasure of meeting him, you know he is the most selfless, hilarious, brave and loving person you’ve likely ever met. If you haven’t met him yet, we guarantee that you would be welcomed with open arms and treated like a Puglisi the moment you entered our home.

The money raised will go towards his medical expenses as he undergoes dialysis treatment and a kidney transplant. The dialysis will begin soon, so we need all the help you can spare to assist our parents in the hurdles ahead.

As he will be on dialysis until there is an available kidney for a transplant, please donate what you can give to alleviate the major financial hardship that will exist in the near future. If you are not in a position where you are able to give anything, please share this page on your social media pages, at work, or where ever you can. Every penny counts towards giving our dad another chance at a happy, fulfilled life.  God has been good to us and we’re hopeful that everything will work out. Please do not share this post with him. He is a man of pride and would be very upset to see that we are asking others to help. This is one of the rare times that we (Mike aka Reese, Paul, Megan and Lauren) are disobeying our father big time and if we get grounded for saving his life, it’ll totally be worth it : )
