Hubby needs liver transplant, type O

As of 4pm today (5/3/19) my husband was put on the liver transplant list. He is in the top 5 on the list. 

We we were married 3/2/19 and have been together just a bit over 2 years. 

Mike has not been able to work since 10/18 and has a home sitting vacant in Indiana, waiting to be sold. His medical bills have been adding up quite heftily and without his steady income, things are falling behind quicker and quicker. 

Once he’a Transplanted, his medicines alone will cost $1000/month AFTER insurance has paid. 

According to the transplant team, we will be responsible of 20% of the cost which was quoted at $850,000. AFTER insurance pays, we will owe $170,000 without the cost of medicines he needs
for the rest of his life. 

I didn’t think asking for $170,000 would be helpful because I am not feeling optimistic we could even raise 10% of that. 

Mike has a huge heart and goes out of his way to help absolutely everyone he can. At the Auction we frequent, he’s the first to buy something to donate to kids, he used to rehab fighting Pittbulls and he will throw down brownies for any kind of fundraiser anyone has.  

Mike has the double mutated genetic disorder, Hemachromatosis. (His body doesn’t deplete
iron. ) His Portal Vein to his Liver has a huge clot. Due to the surplus of iron, he has Non-Alcoholic Cirrhosis of the Liver. His body is not absorbing proteins and he is retaining a lot of fluid. Despite multiple taps, medicines and dietary changes, he is declining rapidly. 

He will be in the hospital a minimum of 6 weeks and it’s 1hr 30 min from where we live so I will be burning through fuel and hotel stays. 

If if you feel led to donate, that would be incredibly awesome. If you can pray, please keep us covered, as well as the transplant team, liver donor and the donor’s family. 

If you haven’t elected to be a donor, please consider it. Not for Mike as he needs
a full liver, but for others that desperately need it.
