Mihai Mandache was a much loved member of the Mansfield Muddies Swim Club.
In two short years he was instrumental in transforming our club from a 'summer-only' squad to a year-round facility with a heated pool and, at the last winter swim meet in June, 17 representative swimmers and growing.
The quality of coaching that he brought to our club was second to none. His passion for the sport and his drive to see our kids improve was evident in everything that he did.
He found his way into our hearts and I know that we found our way into his. Mihai loved the Muddies and we were privileged to share the pool with him. He will be sorely missed.
Mihai is survived by his wife, Mariana, and his two daughters. Our thoughts are with them and we extend our support as a club and community.
