In August 2019, Miguel Rangel, Concrete Manager for Ghilotti Bros., Inc.(GBI), was diagnosed with ALS, a condition also commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease and medically termed as ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Miguel is 56 years old and has been working for GBI since 2009. He has been the backbone of GBI’s concrete division since he came on board. To say that we are deeply saddened with this news and that we want to help Miguel would be an understatement.
ALS is an incurable disease that causes the death of neurons controlling voluntary muscles. It is a challenging disease but there are treatments available that will help Miguel to cope with the effects of ALS. These treatments all come with significant costs.
Miguel is a strong, kind-hearted, loving father, grandfather, husband, and one of GBI’s most dedicated employees. Miguel and his wife Leticia are rising to the challenge of this illness with great courage. Miguel has faced many challenges in the last few years, including the tragic loss of his son two years ago, and now this.
We ask all of you to open your heart and give Miguel the support he and his family need right now to ease the financial burden. Together, we can help he and his family get through this very tough time.
