ProjectBRI: Chinese Language School

My name is Briana Garrett, and I am from the best city in the world, Chicago. As a student at Middlebury College, I am learning to take academic risks that prepare me as a global citizen, and learning Mandarin Chinese is my latest endeavor. I am nervous yet excited to learn Chinese, and I begin my studies this summer at the Middlebury Chinese School, the number one language school in the country. This is a rare opportunity to learn a language in a total immersive environment for 8 weeks. The Chinese School is a bit expensive even with financial aid, leaving me to come up with 4,000 bucks on my own. I am a successful college student working two jobs, but that alone won't cover it. I've got until July 1st, 2016 to raise money for the Language School. If you can donate anything like $5-10, (more is encouraged) I would be eternally grateful. In the future, when I am an English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese-speaking, international reporter for a major network I will be extremely indebted to those who helped me realize my dream.
