Michigan Missy Needs Us!

Missy Griggs, more affectionately known as Michigan Missy, has been an activist for the less fortunate for many years.  She has been an active part of law reform, patient advocacy, and a freedom fighter since she was very young.  She has been there for strangers and friends alike, asking for nothing in return.  Traveling long distances for people she's never met and helping to make a difference in the lives of Michigan citizens all over the state.  For those of us that know Missy, this is an easy story.  Her selflessness and willingness to go out of her way to help is known far and wide.  For the rest of the world, I can only tell you she is someone you will feel fortunate that you've met.  Greeting everyone with a smile and a hug.  Eager to bring a loving spirit to everything she does.  Yet, a fierce activist that stands up for the rights of all.    Over the course of the last year, she has been experiencing progressively worsening pain in her back.  Due to a difficult past, she has chosen to live narcotic free for more than 15yrs, so when the back pain began, she tried desperately to stay away from pain medication.  In recent months, this has been impossible.  The pain has been debilitating.  Unable to leave her bed on some days because she wasn't physically able.   She tried all styles of homeopathic therapy and exercise with no relief.  Knowing that it was only getting worse, she finally found a doctor to examine her.  She has been diagnosed with Deteriorating Disk Disease.   In fact, the diagnosis is so grimm that there may be nothing they can do.  There are also concerns of Cancer, but we are still waiting on those test results.  Unable to function for quite some time, Missy has not been able to meet her obligations and is now homeless.  She was put on the street by the Sherriff's office a little over a week ago.  She spent what little money she had on a storage unit to salvage a good portion of her belongings, but is living in shelters in hopes for a solution.  There isn't any assistance, at least not yet, and her family hasn't been supportive.  The only family she has left are all of us.  The people that she has given to so willingly.  This fund was started by her friends.  We need your help to get this compassionate and loving person off the streets.  Her disease makes this life unbearable.  Please donate to help her get back on her feet and put a roof over her head long enough for her to figure out her health issues.  It doesn't take much, every little bit helps get us to her goal.  Even a donation as small as $5.00 will help.Thank you for your compassion and help in advance!  She really needs all of us so much right now!
