Michelles Housing Help

Donation protected
Michelle is in her thirty’s and is the primary caregiver / provider to a disabled husband and a 17 year old son.  I met Michelle almost a year ago and was immediately attracted to her giving heart and positive attitude as well as her excellent care giving skills.  I hired her and she has been committed to a veteran client that my company cares for.     Prior to meeting Michelle, she had been in a car accident, of no fault of hers.  As a result of this accident, her financial situation became very challenging.   1 ½ months ago, her car finally broke down due to the accident.  (the repairs were temporary due to the car having almost no value).   It wasn’t until the car broke down that she opened up to me about her story.   There are a lot of unfortunate details but what I can tell you is that she is motivated and determined to get her family on stable grounds again.  Regarding her housing situation, it has been a struggle ever since a past landlord sold his building which displaced them.  Since then, they had been moving from hotel to hotel. When the car broke down, they had to now downgrade to a tent moving from campground to camp ground because she no longer had a means of getting to work and from work. As part of the unfortunate details and a big reason for not being able to get into an apartment is that the settlement from the car accident STILL has not been paid out by the insurance company and the IRS this year decided to audit and hold back  her income tax return because of an error made by her last employer in the reporting.  Michelle is expecting a lump sum close to $5000 within the next week or so. In the meantime they have been holding out in a tent and even struggling to pay for that. The unfortunate thing is that…when she gets her money….she has an outstanding debt to pay, needs a car and has to fund first / last and deposit in order to get into an apartment. Its just NOT even close to enough to get them out of this awful cycle!!!  I am advocating for Michelle because I BELIEVE in her.  I have seen her paperwork trails and have had many encounters with her to know that she is in a genuinely hard place.  I believe that if many giving heart come together, we could keep Michelle and her family from becoming HOMELESS!!!  Michelle is a giver.  She is grateful and humble.  She has done her due diligence in reaching out over and over to every organization for help and the waiting lists are LONG!!  When I meet with her, she is positive and grateful.  When she grows tired, she turns to God.  The details sadden me.  Please consider a donation towards a collection goal of $10,000.  She is eager to get her life on track and I believe that she would be a good steward of the money raised so that she can sustain a lifestyle needed to care for her family.   I am setting up a GO FUND ME page for this family.  This is an URGENT situation.  I have been happy to advocate for her and she is GRATEFUL.    IF YOU KNOW OF SOMEONE SELLING AN INEXPENSIVE CAR!!!  PLEASE LET ME KNOW...some of this money will go towards that car!!!!    Thank you for considering being a part of making a difference!!!
