Immigrant Student Overcomes All Obstacles to Earn Degree
Michelle is a first generation student who is graduating from SUNY Cortland college this Saturday. Her family had saved the funds to attend her graduation, but when Michelle's younger brother Bayron was diagnosed with cancer last month, the graduation fund went for emergency medical expenses.
We are ride-sharing, and local folks have donated spare rooms in their house to put the the family up for the weekend, but we need $300 dollars to rent a minivan and money for gas and tolls. Any extra money raised will be given to the family to help pay Michelle's college expenses and Bayron's medical treatment.
Please help us make sure that this extraordinary student is able to have her family attend her graduation!
