Michelle Arroyo has been a close part of our family now for over 4 years. Shortly after Macy was born we hired Michelle to be our Nanny while Kim and I worked. With no family in LA or close to us, Michelle soon became a member of our family. She ensures the safe upbringing of our kids when we're away at work or even the much needed "Date Nights".
Without Michelle, and our ability to place 100% trust in her for the care of our children, these last few years would have been a struggle for us... so for that, and for her never-ending positive energy and thoughtfulness, we are so thankful!
About 2 months ago Michelle underwent additional screenings for cancer due to irregularities uncovered during a routine exam. Unfortunately, the diagnosis came back positive for breast cancer. Due to the nature of this cancer and the likelihood of a re-occurrence, her course of treatment may ultimately result in a double mastectomy.
Michelle still has a long treatment road ahead of her, as she is currently about 1-month into a 4-month chemotherapy treatment. After this treatment, her surgery will take place, followed by radiation treatment. During this time, her ability to work will be limited due to the nature of the treatment. Low energy, a weakened immune system, and general discomfort will all be taking their toll as she progresses through her treatment. Despite her treatment which is now in progress, we are amazed at Michelle's positive attitude, her willingness to work as much as she can (overcoming constant tiredness and discomfort), and the amount of positive energy she still brings to our household. She really is an inspiration.
With reduced working hours and mounting medical bills, we are hopeful that others may find the means to help support her treatment and recovery, which will surely push well into 2020. Even with medical insurance, hefty out-of-pocket maximum's and deductibles still apply, which will cause significant financial strain on Michelle and her husband Mike.
Any financial support donated will go 100% towards the medical bills and financial recovery for Michelle during this process. Michelle and Mike live by very simple means, and every dollar donated really does help, and will surely be spent wisely. The last thing anybody should have to worry about is their mounting medical bills when they are focusing on recovery, and this will help ease that stress.
