Michael Needs Transportation

As most of our family and friends are aware my son Michael suffers from a rare neurological condition - Congenital Heredity Sensory Neuropathy - he does not feel pain the way the rest of us do.  Over the years Michael has had injuries and infections that have taken their toll on his body.  This has caused Charcot Marie Tooth  disease or CMT.  Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease is a group of disorders in which the motor and/or sensory peripheral nerves are affected, resulting in muscle weakness and atrophy, as well as sensory loss. These manifestations occur first in the distal legs and later in the hands.  Bottom line is that Michael cannot walk very far, stand up very long, he doesn't sweat, no matter how hot it gets in Phoenix.  

When he was younger, my husband was alive, getting Michael around was so much easier.  It is just me and Michael now,  we desperately need a wheel-chair accessible vehicle so that I can take Michael to physician appointments, shopping at the mall, maybe take in movie without having to depend on public transportation or taxi cabs.  Michael can't wait at bus stops in even 80 degree weather much less 117 degrees.  He will suffer heat stroke.  

We found this great vehicle at Arizona Mobility Center, a 2010 Chrysler Town & Country Touring Wheelchair Handicap Mobility Van.  Financing for mobility vans is difficult to find, conventional lenders will only loan on the Kelly Blue Book value, which does not account for the $15K to $20K worth of enhancements to make it wheel-chair accessible.  

I am asking all of my family, friends (their friends) to help me raise the money to purchase this van.  Every little bit helps but every large bit would be better.
