In Memory of Michael Paige Hopson Mouritsen (wife of Wade Mouritsen)
Michael Mouritsen passed away in her sleep on November 1, 2018, after suffering from an enlarged heart, a condition that went undetected until her death. She was only 50 years old, and had recently received a clean bill of health after visiting with doctors about feeling poorly. This genetic condition was neither preventable nor curable. Of course, her death came as a shock to all who knew her, especially her husband, Wade, and their teenage daughters.
Michael had no life insurance and like many hard-working Americans, Wade and Michael lived humbly. Michael worked as a waitress and Wade did cement flat work in the warmer months, taking on odd jobs to help make ends meet in the Montana winters. Because of this, they had no savings to pay for the mortuary expenses nor money to pay for a memorial.
On Sunday, November 11, 2018, only ten days after Michael's passing, Wade was traveling from their home in Hamilton, Montana to his brother's in Trout Creek, where he would start on his final cement job for the season the next day. As he traveled the dark highway, a deer darted in front of his truck, the impact totaling his only means of transportation. A kind and trusting stranger helped him move his truck off the road and allowed Wade to use his own vehicle to get to Trout Creek. This last cement job will be complete in two weeks, at which point Wade will have no steady income, no vehicle, and no way to pay the bills piling up, including those from the mortuary.
Our hope is to get enough donations to pay off the nearly $3000 in mortuary expenses for his beloved Michael and to get Wade a replacement truck for around $5000, so he can continue to work. Please consider helping our dear brother. Any amount will be a blessing.
