March 20,2020 UPDATE My beautiful husband was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma in July of 2018. The doctor discovered SIX lymph nodes infected under his left arm. It was such a shock as we were given a clean bill of health three years prior when he had skin cancer on his back removed. Immediately with the diagnosis & armed with the Word of the Lord- we began a very long fight and have been fighting ever since. Over the last two years, we’ve had good, mixed and bad results from his team of Drs. We’ve had great days and some gut wrenching bad ones. We’ve slept with peace surrounding us and stayed awake in terror. He’s felt like himself at times and other times he’s been so sick he wasn’t recognizable. We have run the gamete of emotions and through the highs and lows we have been left exhausted. Having said that we have NO CHOICE but to let the Lord renew our strength (Isaiah 40:31) and allow our friends and family to hold our hands up. (Exodus 17:12) The latest report from his last petscan delivered TERRIBLE, DEVASTATING NEWS. I can’t sugar coat how this appointment literally knocked the wind out of us. So here are the facts: The cancer has spread significantly! There are new spots in his arm, leg, torso, back, shoulder, lung, liver and potential activity in his bone marrow. In order to get to the last chapter of this cancer story, which is LIFE. LIVING. HEALING we have to endure the next chapters of fighting. We are so SO incredibly thankful for everything that the doctors in Colorado have done up until now. They have offered ONE LAST option in the form of an oral targeted immunotherapy. With the hope being to slow spread and possibly shrink growth. We may take that option but after that, there is literally absolutely NOTHING else they can do for my Mikey. We are now preparing for the next level of care from other sources. We have looked in to and researched two different places out of the United States for treatment. The AWESOME NEWS is our case has been accepted at the “Oasis of Hope” in Mexico! This team of amazing doctors will work with and implement oral targeted immunotherapy along with traditional and alternative breakthrough treatments that are not offered in the United States. The process: 1) A 20 day hospital stay in Mexico. 2) In-home treatment for 2-12 months afterward. 3) A one week stay at the hospital in Mexico one year after the initial 20 day treatment is completed. The cost: $27,500 which has to be paid in full. We also have an additional consultation for a facility in Spain, however the cost is the same. We are LITERALLY FIGHTING FOR MIKIE’S LIFE & BELIEVING FOR MIRACLES ALONG THE WAY. We are doing all we can to come up with finances on our own, however Mike is no longer with Stallion due to his health. So our income is no longer the same as when we began this fight. We are BEYOND thankful for all you have given so far. The messages, the texts. The calls. The prayers. We never dreamed we would be in this position. I’m asking that you JOIN IN THE FIGHT by praying, giving and supporting this next chapter. I need my husband. My babies need their dad. Mikes impact in all of our lives has not reached its full potential. Above all we can not thank GOD, our FATHER, enough for being right by our side, for leading, guiding and directing us as we trust Him for all we need to finish this battle.
