Mike's Celebration of life will be on the 25th of March at the Lake Forest Park Civic Club @ 1 PM. More info can be found here.
Early Thursday morning (2/23), Michael Clauson passed away unexpectedly. Mike is succeeded by his 5 children Michael, Mark, Miranda, Matthew and Morgan and 3 grand children Kennedy, Madison and Hailey. Mike brought great joy to everyone in his life and had one of the biggest hearts out of anyone I have ever known. He was like a second father to me and I am sure the Clauson’s are like a second family to many of us.
Mike had a tradition of taking his family camping at Fort Stevens State Park every year since the kids were little. As time went on the kids were allowed to bring friends and I was very fortunate to have spent a handful of these with the family over the past decade and are some of my fondest memories. This was a very special tradition that Mike held close to his heart and one the kids would always look forward to every summer. The Clauson family would like to donate a memorial bench in his honor which will hopefully be at Fort Stevens State Park or one of the many beaches they would enjoy during their yearly trip. The money raised will be going towards the costs associated with that (around $6000 from preliminary research).
Any excess funds will go towards Mike’s celebration of life (location, flowers, food, etc) that the kids are all paying out of pocket for which is looking to be around $3000.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated in this time of need. The Clauson’s would never be ones to ask for help directly so please consider donating today to help honor Mike’s legacy and to take some of the financial burden off his children. All donations will go directly to the Clauson family.
