Micah Braswell Tennis

My name is Micah Braswell and I am 17 years old and a junior in high school.  I am a competitive tennis player and I have been playing since I was very young.  I had some tough setbacks with back injuries when I was younger and missed almost 2 years of competition, but I am fully recovered and this year has been my best year of tennis.  I have grown up training under my dad's coaching at Laurel Oak Country Club and just this year I have started working out with Heath Turpin and Lance Luciani and the Tennis Rx group.  I have been ranked as high as #8 in the country in the USTA 18 and under division and have wins over 3 players in the top 5.  I just won my first ITF (International Tennis Federation) junior tournament this past March in Irvine, CA and I have made two semifinals since then.  My goal is to reach the top 100 in the world in the ITF junior rankings to give myself a chance to play in the Junior US Open.  If I get my ranking into the top 100 I will also be eligible to get wildcards into pro tournaments.  I am working very hard to reach this goal by training 5-6 hours a day on the court and in the gym.  I have played 5 ITF tournaments already this year, but will need to travel internationally over the next few months to get my ranking up where it needs to be.  The expense of traveling to these tournaments is very high and a huge sacrifice.   I am planning on playing at least 5 international tournaments in the next few months and each tournament will cost around $3,000 for flights, hotels, food, and tournament fees.
