Henry's medical bills fundraiser

Hi everybody,
As many of you know, Henry has been recently diagnosed with a high grade glioma, which means a nasty and aggressive brain tumour. He was first operated on in early January, and then needed a repeat surgery a month later. The tumour grew back alot faster than anybody was expecting and he will be starting his chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments very soon.
Not having family in Fort St-john, he decided to receive these treatments in Montréal where my girlfriend and I, his son, will be able to take care of him. This decision comes at a certain price, as the first round of chemotherapy treatment will not be covered by BC Care. It will cost around 10,000$. Henry is also using medical marijuanna oil and other naturopathic substances to give himself every chance of putting this behind him. These treatments are also not covered by BC Care. We are also looking into getting someone to come 2 or 3 days a week at our house for psychological and physical support, as Henry's left side, particularly his arm, has decided it would no longer cooperate, which makes most daily activities very tiring. We havn't lost hope he'll be playing the guitar again in the near future though!

I particularly want to thank Gidd and Bettyanne for setting up the online auction and the actual fundraiser, as well as for taking such good care of Henry anytime they can. None of this would have been possible without them. Thank you also to everybody else who is involved without my knowledge.

Comme plusieurs d'entre vous le savent, Henry a récemment reçu un diagnostic de gliome malin, soit une tumeur au cerveau très agressive. Il s'est d'abord fait opérer au début janvier pour que la tumeur soit partiellement retirée. Une seconde intervention a ensuite été nécessaire un mois plus tard, puisque la tumeur est revenue beaucoup plus rapidement que quiconque n'aurait pu le prévoir. Les traitements de chimiothérapie et de radiothérapie devraient débuter très bientôt.
N'ayant pas de famille à Fort St-John, en Colombie britannique où il demeure, Henry a décidé de recevoir ces traitements à Montréal, où ma copine et moi, son fils, pourrons prendre soin de lui. Cette décision entraînera malheureusement certains coûts supplémentaires. La première ronde de chimiothérapie ne sera pas couverte par l'assurance médicaments de la Colombie-Britannique et coûtera environ 10,000$. Henry utilise aussi de l'huile de cannabis thérapeutique et d'autres substances naturopathiques qui ne seront couvertes par aucune assurance. Nous contemplons aussi l'idée de trouver quelqu'un qui pourrait venir 2 ou 3 jours par semaine à la maison pour offrir un soutien physique et psychologique à Henry, puisque son côté gauche, particulièrement son bras, semble avoir perdu toute envie de coopérer. Cela rend plusieurs activités quotidiennes très épuisantes. Nous n'avons toutefois pas perdu espoir de le revoir jouer de la guitare!
