2nd Annual PMMP Festival
The 2nd Annual Prague Multicultural Music Project (PMMP) will take place in the Czech Republic as an interactive festival presenting a multi-media mix of classical, jazz, rock and world music. In a way, it's a co-op festival where participants in a festival where they perform with and for others from different world cultures.
Initially the idea for the Prague Multicultural Music Project sprang out of a passion for wanting to create a festival where international musicians come together for the purpose of making music and building relationships, while at the same time helping to break down cultural barriers. Performing for last year's festival were musicians from as far away as Australia, New Zealand, Iraq, South Africa, Germany, Syria, Algeria, Israel and the United States and will join with Czech musicians, including some of the extraordinarily talented musicians of the Prague Symphony.
The PMMP Festival musicians will participate in a variety of venues all around Prague, at times offering 2 to 3 concerts in one evening! During the daytime hours, clinics, masterclasses and recitals will be offered as part of the Symposium Series. Then to round out the musical offerings, the "After Hours" Series will provide opportunities for blues, jazz and world musicians to perform in smaller more intimate settings such as blues clubs to satisfy the tastes of the ever-present late night music fans in Prague.
