Mexican Farmworker Caravan
Donation protected
Since 2015 the farmworkers picking berries in the San Quintín Valley of Baja California have been fighting for a union contract to guarantee a living wage, decent working conditions, and an end to sexual abuse and child labor in the fields. They lead an international boycott of Driscoll's , the supplier of the berries they pick, until they achieve their contract. In March the workers will participate in a historic march that will take them from Baja California through seven Mexican states, where they will be joined by other farmworkers on their way to the first conference of Mexican farmworkers in Mexico City on March 17. All funds raised will go to the San Quintín farmworkers' independent union, Sindicato Independiente Nacional de Jornaleros Agrícolas (SINDJA), to support the workers during the caravan.
