Merlin's Workshop

Donation protected
Merlin DeShaw is a master stone cutter. His cabochons have been appreciated by jewelers from all over the world. This creative talent has had to work in a small cramped shed, an un heated lean to for his saws, and with one of his big saws outside for the past 7 years. He will be turning 70 in March 2019 and it is my hope that we can build him a workshop so his remaining years will be spent in a shop that is temperature controlled and out of the weather. We have space for the workshop on our land, we just do not have the funds to build the shop ourselves. He has talked about building a shop, so I know he wants to have one 24x32 feet. He will have an area for his oily saws, and an area for his grinders that run in water. He also needs an area for his jewelry bench. Merlin is so giving to everyone but himself. A friend suggested I try a Go Fund Me account because he felt everyone who knows and loves Merlin and his work would want to help with this project. Our goal is an estimate for the foundation, basic shop, with a sink and a bathroom. We have several people who will help by donating labor to help us build the shop--keeping costs as low as possible. A workshop will make it a little easier for him to keep cutting his beautiful cabochons.
