The Mercyhurst Liturgical Dance Ensemble is going to England!
The Liturgical Dance Ensemble is made up of dance majors at Mercyhurst University and is directed by Mercyhurst University dance professor C. Noelle Partusch who also serves as the Co-Vice President of the Sacred Dance Guild. The ensemble's main focus is to provide performance opportunities to enhance the enrichment of spiritual life on campus and in the community (mercyhurst.edu). The Liturgical Dance Ensemble often performs for on-campus mass, as well as for local church services, retirement communities, and other community groups (mercyhurst.edu). Along with community-work, the Liturgical Ensemble performs annually at the Project Dance, a sacred dance festival in New York City's Times Square, and has also had the opportunity to travel to Atlanta, Austria, Australia, and most recently, at Project Dance in Jerusalem, Israel in 2014 (mercyhurst.edu).  The Liturgical Dance Ensemble has also performed at TEDxErie and the Erie Festival of Dance.

Over Spring Break (March 4-11) this year, fourteen dancers of the Liturgical Dance Ensemble and C. Noelle Partusch will again have the opportunity to travel, this time to England. The event, organized by the Sacred Dance Guild, is located in Norwich, which is about 100 miles outside of London. The Liturgical Dance Ensemble will be performing an hour-long concert at West Acre Theatre on March 7th, as well as participating in a worship service at St. James the Great Church in Castle Acre. There will also be a workshop for dance in worship for the local community.

After the events, the Liturgical Dance Ensemble will be traveling to London to spend three days exploring the city at museums, historical sites, and of course, The Royal Opera House, the home of The Royal Ballet.

The ensemble has been able to obtain airline tickets for a very good price and the people at the parish in Norwich, UK are going to be very generous with their hospitality for which we are extremely grateful. However, we will still be incurring costs. Everything is costly in London - youth hostel, food, transportation, etc. We are hoping to raise some funds to offset the performance portion of our UK adventure.

Here are the real fees:
Airfare: $620
Food/Transportation/Housing in Norwich: $200

If you are able to contribute in any way, the Liturgical Dance Ensemble would be appreciative. We plan on splitting any donations equally between all us. We can put together a photo or video collage so you can see us in action in England and make it available upon request if you wish. We are so excited to continue to expand our reach and connection of dance and worship by traveling abroad. We thank you in advance for your financial support. Peace be with you!
