Can you help us keep the heat on? Our boiler is needing repaired!
We are incredibly blessed to work, worship and organize in this fabulous 100-year-old, 40,000-square-foot building that is on the National Historic Registry. At the Mercy Junction Justice and Peace Center, we provide hospitality -- a cool place in the summer and a warm place in the winter -- five days a week. It's a place to rest, pray and find community. We also serve a home-cooked vegan meal, and both hot and cold beverages for our guests each day. Guests can visit our free store where they can find clothes, toiletries, household goods and other items. In addition we have nearly 40 building partners -- artists, activists and people of faith -- who call this place home; and, that's not counting the dogs and cats we care for here.
We just found out we're going to have to make a repair to our boiler that is going to cost about $1,500. We don't have that in our budget, so we're reaching out to our friends, supporters and all those who believe in the work of hospitality, peacemaking and social justice.
