Mental Health - time for action
Donation protected
In 2016 Rachel's teenage daughter was sent over 300 miles away from home for treatment for a mental health condition. Sadly, it isn’t just Rachel's family that have had to endure such a painful separation and the resulting trauma. Out of area placements continue to be common practise. They not only cause great upset and trauma for patients and their families they often have a detrimental effect on recovery, through denying patients the all-important continuity of care.
The campaign group Mental Health- Time for Action was launched this year in a determined effort to highlight the ongoing crisis in our Mental Health Services.
On 19th May the group held their inaugural conference at Nottingham University. It was a great success and well attended with delegates from a range of backgrounds including Drs, mental health nurses, students, social workers, patients and carers. Using the ideas and experiences gathered during the day, Mental Health- Time for Action launched a petition which was delivered to Downing Street 30th June.
The petition is ongoing so please add your name & share if you can:

We are now making plans for next years Conference, as well as a presentation to Parliament later this year.
Any donations, however small are much appreciated and will help to keep this campaign going.
Many thanks,
