Menstrual Activism Project in Kiel
Donation protected
Women account for half of the world’s population and most women experience menstruation for over 38 years, equaling about 6.25 years of life!
Despite spending a considerable amount of our lives menstruating, we rarely talk about it and neither consider how the reliance on single-use feminine hygiene products affects our health, environment, finances, and promotes a tradition of menstrual taboo.
We are two Master students at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Germany, who want to reverse this taboo through Regel. Recht - an educational project offered on campus.
Regel.Recht is a grassroots campaign offering face-to-face interaction amongst women regarding the topic of menstruation. We will offer interactive workshops and social events to examine the issues that surround menstruation and empower women to take ownership of their bodies and take informed choices of the hygiene products they use, and increase accessibility to an adoptable sustainable alternative—the menstrual cup.
The capstone of our project is a bike tour through Germany - the largest consumer of tampons per capita in the world - in order to raise awareness about menstruation, our project and spread period positiveness cross country.
We need your support to make this possible!
It's your body. Your period. Your choice.
