Men Sheds Ireland

A couple of years ago my father's prostate cancer returned for the 2nd time.  In addition to cancer he has kidney issues and heart failure.  Pre and Post Christmas last year he was on hospital (3mths in total) and we didn't think he was coming out.  Thankfully he improved and he was released in March 2016.  When he got out of hospital he was very depressed and didn't want to go out or talk to anyone.  For our family this was really hard to manage but one day a family friend (a man) wouldn't take no for an answer and forced my dad to go with him to the local men sheds for an hour.  That hour has transformed his life and that of my family (especially my mother). From being told by the doctors he wouldn't see the end of this year, my father is now spending up to 3 days a week at the men sheds, has learned new skills, made friends and has something to get out of bed for in the morning.  I can't thank the volunteers at the men sheds enough for all the hard work and support they give men such as my father!  The money raised will help them provide tools, musical instruments and food to the men that attend the sheds.  Thanking you in advance for your donations.
