As you all know Helen fought a short but very courageous battle againsts cancer. Many of you followed her story and I know she touch so many people's hearts. The waiting rooms at SGH where a different place from the moment she walked in smiling and laughing. She gave hope and strength to other cancer patients. For a short period we all thought she'd kicked its ass when the chemotherapy shrunk the tumour on her lung giving a result that even Dr Bates her Oncologist couldn't believe.  But sadly at the start of  Helens preventive treatment Radiotherapy to the brain Helen development a swelling and pains in her abdomen.  On the 23rd February Dr Bates delivered the devastating news "I'm so sorry Helen the cancer is far more aggressive  than we thought  we're trying to stop it going to your brain buts gone the other way you now have multiple tumours on your Liver "  She took that in her stride and except her fate with the most amazing dignity. A few days maybe a couple of weeks that's all she had left.  She decided she wanted to celebrate her birthday on the 25th February and called it her living wake "you're not having a party when I'm gone I want to be there"  Thank you to those of you that attended what a party it was and she loved every minute.  Helen was such a happy bubbly kind considerate generous person and that's how she wanted us all to remember her. We spoke about Helens wishes and she planned her own funeral  she wanted a nice place for her family and friends to be able to go and remember her.  So she decided on Memorial Bench along the water front at Weston shore/ Victoria Coutnry Park one of her favourite places.  All funds raised will go towards the bench. I will keep you all informed of the progress and will arrange a grand opening  everybody welcome with ribbons and champagne in true Helen "posh bird style"

I would like to take this opportunity to thank every single one of you for all your support to myself Helens children Bill and all Helens other family members xXx
