Hi this is Chris from Iconicide, a NY based band with ties to groups as diverse as they are many. Throughout the past 30 years, over 100 musicians have played for us, and we have persevered in an ever changing city as venues and neighborhoods fall to the monster that is gentrification. We also regularly book and promote other bands and events, among them the long running female fronted showcase series Iconicide Presents: A Witches’ Night Out, as well as many shows in Tompkins Square Park, maintaining a vital and creative role in the NYC cultural landscape.

Musically Iconicide are best known for bending and bridging genres, from Hardcore to Punk to Metal. With countless musical asides, heavy handed delivery and candid, mind opening lyrics, the band also double up as our Hip Hop alter egos DABUMRUSHKREW.

I am happy to announce that we are currently working on our next album Engine Of Apocalypse, which not only will commemorate that 30 year Anniversary, but will serve as a memorial for the four members of the band who have passed away over the past four years, these being bassist Shane Keogh (1976-2015), drummer Mario Rienzo aka Maj Da Beast (1968-2017), guitarist Roger Arson (?-2018), and bassist Lynn Haze (1975-2018).

Aside from a full studio album’s worth of music never before heard, Engine Of Apocalypse will include live recordings of Iconicide featuring each of our fallen brothers, who were truly members of the extended Iconicide family. The album itself is set to clock in at 24 songs, for a full 80 minutes. Yes we have the material, and it is damned good, yet we have no label backing, limited resources, and each of us is going through trials for which a surefire remedy is heavy, honest music. And we need our voice to be heard, so that we can do justice to the memories of those we have lost.

Between recording, mastering and reproduction of Engine Of Apocalypse, we expect costs to put this album out to reach $3,000. We would deeply appreciate any assistance anyone out there could provide so that our tribute could be made a reality, and we could continue our creative mission. Funds will also be directed to the families of the fallen.

As a premium to those who donate towards the completion of Engine Of Apocalypse, Iconicide are prepared to offer the following: All those who donate at least $10 will receive a copy of the album upon release. Donations of $20 or more will receive a double sided t shirt commemorating  Iconicide’s 20th Anniversary (please specify style and size). At $50, donators will receive a mega bundle including the album, shirt, plus a variety of stickers and square pins.

Please Note: To protect your privacy, Gofundme does not reveal the personal information of contributors. For this reason the band will reach out via the “Thank You” feature and request a mailing address where your item(s), when available, can be sent.
