"Everybody dies but not everybody lives" a quote I can't seem to get out of my head when it comes to my father. I'm still in shock and can't believe this is happening to me again.
My family and I had booked a 7 day cruise a couple months ago, something we had never done before- no idea what to expect and overall just filled with joy we got to finally see St. Thomas - a place I've been wanting to go see for some time now.
We were all so excited, I can't even express the excitement into words. We arrived at the port. Shortly we went on ship and we than knew this was going to be the best vacation that we have ever taken. This place was magical. A Disney kinda magical. The ship: Carnival Magic. It was meant to be.
We relaxed a lot, Ate a ton and explored everything. Where 1 was, 7 followed. We did everything together. Our favorite time was 8:15pm FAMILY DINNER! Every night was like thanksgiving the funny stories and laughs and the sharing of food.
Long trip and many memories later the vacation ended. The final day we woke up and my dad wasn't feeling well. Just like any other person feeling sick, we did what we could and said Pops "we'll be home in 4 hrs".
Within 6 hrs of being home bound my dad insisted we call the ambulance something he's always been to strong to say. This is when we started to worry. He was than airlifted to Charleston,SC and the doctors told us to pray and that it didn't look good.
My dad was so strong and held on for us. We got to say our goodbyes and he was heaven sent.
Never in a million plus years would I have ever thought that after spending 7 magical days together as a family we would than lose our father in less than 24 hrs.
My Dad was the best dad. My life will never be the same. I love you dad and I'll never forget you. Thank you for being the best person to us and teaching us how to live life. I will never forget the memories we shared and made with you. Thank you for always being part of our life and doing what you could with us.
My father is survived by his one true love and the most amazing mother Maryann, his 7 daughters - Stephanie, Jillian, Justine, Kelly, Kristina, Shannon and Grace
His best friends and fur babies- Toby and Lucy.
His birds of course- Summer,
Seraphim and Cherubim
His 5 grandchildren- Aidan, Ava, Julia, Laila and McKenzie.
And his 4 son in laws- Stan, Jon, Nick and Simon.
Remember to tell those you love everyday how much they mean to you.
