Framingham Police arrested Rodriguez-Ortiz, 24, on Wednesday around 5 a.m. Police had gone to a Beaver Street apartment after several 911 calls reporting a possible stabbing.

Police said the victim, Rodriguez-Ortiz’s girlfriend, “bleeding profusely” from the abdomen, stumbled down the hallway and asked for help before collapsing. The woman could not provide many details about what had occurred. She was taken by medical helicopter to the Worcester hospital.

The woman’s young daughter told police she was asleep and woke up after she heard her mother and Rodriguez-Ortiz arguing. The girl said Rodriguez-Ortiz, whom she only knew as Teo, punched her mother three times in the side of the head. Her mother responded by kicking him, Miller said.

Rodriguez-Ortiz then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and began slicing his arm. Both the woman and the daughter began crying which enraged him.

“He said, ‘I’ll give you something to cry about,’” said Miller. “He held the knife menacingly toward the juvenile and then he placed the knife against her face.”

The woman kicked Rodriguez-Ortiz to get her away from her daughter. He then chased the woman into the apartment building’s hallway where he pinned her to the ground. The daughter said Rodriguez-Ortiz stabbed her mother three to four times.

According to a police report, a man who lives in the apartment house told police he heard a woman screaming, ’I’m dying, I’m dying.” The man opened his door and the woman entered his apartment. Rodriguez-Ortiz at first followed her, but then ran away, police wrote in the report.

The girl identified the Rodriguez-Ortiz using Facebook, and officers found a blood-drenched Rodriguez-Ortiz walking near a brook. according to the report. Police followed his footprints and found the discarded knife, which was still covered in blood.

When police first spoke to him, he admitted to cutting himself, but later said the woman stabbed him. He then later said he had been drinking and had a brain injury and had no memory of the incident, police wrote in the report.

Police arrested Rodriguez-Ortiz, whose address is not known, and charged him with assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife).

Miller asked Stark to hold Rodriguez-Ortiz without bail, pending a hearing to determine if he is a danger to the public. Rodriguez-Ortiz’s lawyer, Robert Costello, did not argue against the request, only to say his client denies the allegations.

Stark ordered Rodriguez-Ortiz held for a dangerousness hearing on Monday. In addition, she revoked his bail on an open Worcester District Court case, holding him without bail for 90 days.

We are looking to help her and her daughter get back on their feet after this tragedy they have endured! She is in for a long road to recovery and needs all the help she can get. Thank you and God bless!
