Hi!

Thanks for taking the time to read this:

I am an aspiring teacher who got into the school of my dreams, UC Davis, for the Masters program in Education and Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential.

During my undergraduate  years at California State University, Sacramento I was able to contribute to my educational finances through the employment I obtained on campus. However, since I am no longer a student at CSUS I will no longer be able to work for the school itself.

In addition, the UC Davis Master's program requires a full-time commitment for the first year and does NOT allow any time for employment during the course of this program. The first year of this program is quite intense. Therefore, I am asking for donations (of any amount) to help me fulfill my dreams of obtaining my Master degree in Education, with my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, and my Bilingual Authorization.

I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. Growing up I was often called upon by my own teachers to translate for Spanish speaking students and parents. This brought about my love for the language and helping English learners in their academics.

Additionally, I am a former martial arts teacher.  When I received my black belt I  began teaching all kinds of martial arts classes that ranged from the tiny tots class (children ages 3-6) to mighty tigers (ages 7-12) to mighty teens (ages 13-17) and even the adults. I especially liked teaching the childrens classes as the milestones were very apparent and undoubtedly rewarding. I have spent hours in the studio working with our junior ranking members in preparation for many things such as tests, tournaments, and demonstrations. These make up many rewarding experiences such as watching students successfully pass their test and wrapping their newly earned belt on them. Or watching them win their first place trophy when they utilized the advice given to them in previous class sessions. Other successes range from moments when I taught my 4 year old student to tie their shoe, or my 7 year old how to tie their karate belt correctly, or taught parents how to properly mold a mouthpiece in their child’s mouth.

All of these experiences were wonderous to behold and ignite my passion to become an educator. I want to become a teacher to positively impact the lives of other children, teens, and young adults.

I will bring my bilingual skills, my background in teaching martial arts, and my deep desire to motivate and teach students to achieve their highest potential into the classroom. I look forward to this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the people and students I work with.

Now, I have been accepted into University of California, Davis. I am extremely grateful to be given this opportunity to be in the Masters program, which is why I am seeking ways to finance it. The total estimated cost of attendance is $38,463.  My current living expenses are $23,137. Together, it adds up to $61600 as a total need of expenses for the year.

Thank you so much for your help! God bless!
