Mel Samuel Funeral Cost

On Sunday July 7th, 2019, we lost our beloved father unexpectedly. In his 48 years with us he displayed kindness and generosity to all who had the privilege of knowing him. The adversities and hardships that he overcame in his life strengthened his resolution to help others whenever and however he could. As a young man, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps to serve his country and better his life--it was through this service that he was deployed to fight in the Persian Gulf War in Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm with Wpns Co. 3/6. Attaining the rank of Lance Corporal, he was honorably discharged following debilitating car accidents suffered back home in the USA. By grace of the Department of Veteran's Affairs, he was able to go to college by his home at the University of Charleston, earning a Bachelor's of Science. His final years with us were spent taking his two sons to their lacrosse and hockey games, drinking sweet tea, making chili, and watching college sports. Luckily, he lived to see both children make it to college at West Virginia University and the University of Louisville--the eldest even serving a deployment to Japan and South Korea with the USMC. 

Funds are desperately needed to help pay for the costs of the funeral, and to help his two sons tie up loose ends financially. Mel would be the last person to ever ask for help, as he always sought to overcome challenges through humility and perseverance. If you feel so compelled, please donate anything to help our cause.
