Help Megan beat her cancer
In October 2015 I was diagnosed with a rare form of sarcoma cancer. I have had two major operations to remove the tumours but despite the doctors doing their best to remove all traces, the cancer keeps coming back.
Because of where the tumours are (abdominal cavity) they are unable to perfom any more operations and radiation is also not an option. This has left me with one choice and that's to have chemotherapy, but with the cancer being so rare they are not sure of which chemo to give me. I have already gone through one cycle of chemo but unfortunatley the cancer continued to grow and has also spread.
I am now currently going through my second lot of chemo and in a couple of days will go into hospital for my next course.
During this time my family, friends and myself have been doing alot of research into additional treatment that I can use in conjuction with the chemo. We have spoken to a few cancer survivors who have highly recommended I use the following treatments.
- Blood samples being sent to a laboratory in Europe which offers insight into the nature of the tumour and tumour specific treatments
- Dietary and nautural supplements
- Hyperthermia treatment over many weeks
- Vita C IV infusion over many weeks
These treatments do not come cheap and will come into tens of thousands of dollars, and with the day to day costs of living, households bills to pay and only being on one income (as I am unable to work) we are finding it very difficult to come up with the funds ourselves.
At 33 I feel I am way to young and have so much more to give and I am willing to try anything to beat this cancer. My amazing partner Mark, my beautiful daughter Zayne (16) and my amazing son Curtis (12) are what keep me strong and without them this would be so much harder.
