#MEGA: Make Ed Great Again Fund
My name is Brandy and I have started this Go Fund Me in order to help my bff Ed with the financial hard-ship that has arisen as a result of his battle with colon cancer. We all know the physical and emotional toll cancer can take on a person, but it can also be devastating financially.
For those that do not know, Ed was diagnosed with colon cancer on September 27, 2016. Surgery was performed and the tumor was removed a few weeks later. Scans done in January showed no sign of return. However, Ed started to have symptoms return by the spring and was told at the end of April the tumor in his colon had returned and found several small lesions on his liver. After weeks and weeks of insurance issues, changing of oncologist and hospital systems, and multiple hospitalizations Ed was finally able to start chemotherapy in June. At this point he has multiple cycles to go then scans and re-evaluation will indicate the next step.
Our hope for this endeavor is to raise money to help with the mounting pile of medical bills as well as monthly bills/living expenses while Ed undergoes chemo. Our goal is to ease the financial burden created out of missed time at work over the last ten months. If we can achieve this goal Ed can concentrate more on kicking cancers ass and less on worrying about finances! The ultimate end goal is to beat cancer and Make Ed Great Again! #MEGA
