Meeting Roccos Medical Needs

Donation protected
This sweet baby boy was born on Feb 5th 2018, 9lbs 3oz of Cute! Shortly after birth his parents where told he was suffering from enlarged kidneys grade 4 hydronophrosis and Torticollis (tight muscles) in his neck which limited his head movements...in time causing Plagiocephaly or flat head.

Luckily enough months before his birth his mom, Hayley and I agreed he would be a perfect fit into my home daycare!
On Monday April 16th 2018 the most precious baby boy showed up at my door..omgoodness a head full of hair and big blue eyes, I was in LOVE!! A baby boy full of smiles, one I never wanted to put down....within the first few weeks of him being here his mom and I both noticed he was a little behind on the simple things like holding his head up, at first we giggled thinking he was just really chunky for his age and in time he would catch up...we also noticed he always leaned to one side, in our arms, in his carseat, in the swing, and just laying flat. In due time we both realized unfortunately it was more then that.

On June 4th his family and I realized that a trip too the pediatricians office was needed, and on June 5th it was confirmed at Lurie Children's Hospital through a spine x-ray that he did indeed have Infantile Scoliosis..1 in 10,000 kids are diagnosed this young.....our hearts were broken, but we stayed strong for Rocco. Within the last almost 3 months he has been to numerous Dr visits, specialists, therapy sessions, x-rays and ultrasounds.

This past Friday, Aug 31, 2018 Rocco had follow up x-rays and a ultrasounds....and has now been diagnosed with Aggressive Scoliosis, as Rocco grows his spine will continue to curve. There is no known cause but the cardiologist, urologist and orthopedic have all agreed Mehta casting at this point is Roccos best option.  After clearance through MRI on Sept 18, treatment will begin.

As a working mom, Hayley provides her family insurance, But BC/BS considers the casting that Rocco needs as experimental and will not cover it AT ALL, thankfully it will cover any hospital stays as he will have to stay 3-5 days after each casting. Because his heart beats a little to quickly he will also have to be on a heart monitor once a week during the casting time. This little guy has a long road ahead but we know "Gods GOT THIS!"

I am looking to raise 10,000 by Oct 1, 18 this will help to cover his first 6 casts...As I hold him each day there is no doubt in my mind treatment needs to start ASAP. I am truly grateful God has given him such a sweet, loving, patient, bubbly personality Rocco makes all of the sorrow, and sadness flee with just one snuggle. We thank you in advance for your donation!! xoxo
