Dear Friends! Meet Keyni, she is 7 yrs/ 3 mths old.
Keyni came to our family on December 18, 2016, 8 months after my 12.5 yr German shepherd/collie passed away. My daughter drove 7 hours to Sudbury, Ontario in a snow storm to pick her up, and it took another 7 hours to return home. To my understanding and confirmed, Keyni has been badly abused prior to coming to our family. She has been beaten, caged, starved and burned. She came into our home scared, cowardly and scorned by the human hand. Our family worked with her everyday to gain her trust. Keyni now lives a happy, secure, spoiled and truly vibrant life. She is kind, gentle with a beautiful heart that delivers positive energy at home and within our community. However, on Monday August 20/18, she has been diagnosed with Nasal Carcinoma - Nasal Cancer. Keyni has undergone 2 CT scans, x-rays, ultrasounds and a lymph node biopsy. She is currently on 2 high doses of medication and will start radiation therapy on Tuesday, September 4/18 at the University of Guelph Cancer Centre for Animals. Her follow up treatments will continue after radiation therapy.
My family has made a commitment to her, for Keyni to live a happy, long, joyful life filled with unconditional love.
