Let's help to heal Venezuela

Donation protected

Hello,

Today I am writing this to seek for your help. I am a Venezuelan emigrant. I have been already living abroad for more than five years, and I have been seeing the Venezuelan crisis as an outsider. I have decided to start this campaign as means to make a positive impact and help someone in need to eat or heal.

Just for you to have an idea of the impact of your help:

- Each 5$ buy 57 oatmeal breakfast for children in Venezuela. And they love it!
- Each 10$ buy 1000 folic acid tablets for a pregnant woman.

Steps to help someone in Venezuela to eat or heal

1. Make a donation here in goFundMe
2. Spread the word about this fund raiser with your friends and families, the more people who know about it, the best.
3. I will transfer all the donations directly to Caritas in Venezuela. http://caritasvenezuela.org/ayuda-ahora/donaciones/ to their account in Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas

Why people in Venezuela need our help?

I rarely speak about this because it really hurts, is a kind of pain that I can't describe. However today I am opening out to you, because I know that together we can help.

An over simplification of the crisis is basically that the combination between the hyperinflation and a state unable to satisfy basic human needs have created a crisis where the shortages of food and medicines are the norm.

- Due to hyperinflation, the situation in Venezuela is highly stretched.
- By April this year Inflation reached a staggering 2.700 %. After last week devaluation is prognosticated to reach 1.000.000% by the end of this year.
- It's hard to find a job, and if they have a job, people need to choose between buying medicines or buying food.
- More than 87% of the population lives below the poverty line.
- The average Venezuelan lost more than 11 kilos of bodyweight in 2017.
- There is about 85% of official shortage of medicines.

The combination of all these, and other factors, have created a situation in Venezuela that is really bad, and affects not only Venezuela but also neighbor countries.

The races

I will do the following races. I will swim, bike and run, and then run again to help someone of my country who is in need.

-  01-Sept-2018 Olympic Triathlon in Cologne Germany:
   Distances: Swim 1.5k, Bike 40k, Run 10k.
Expenses I have gone through over 2500 €

- 07-10-2018: Half Marathon in Cologne:
  Distance: 21.5k.
  Expenses: 58€

- 14-10-2018: Munich Relay Marathon.
  Distance 14.5k.
  Expenses:  200€

The goal

My ultimate goal is to raise 3000€. The equivalent of the expenses that I am going through overall with these races.

But it is the first time I do this, and I feel unsure of how this will go, that is why I decided to start with 1000€.

I hope that the campaign goes viral and I raise even more than my ideal goal.

What you can do

Donate, please be generous. People there are really dying. The emigration rate is higher now than the people who has emigrated from the war in Syria. They really need it.

Share it with your friends, family, colleagues.
