Grégoire è convinto che il manifestare a queste persone un amore incondizionato sia l'unica vera terapia, anche se è consapevole che non sia possibile, per il momento, prescindere dai farmaci.
Grégoire is convinced that the best therapy for people with mental disorder is unconditional love, but he is also aware that, for the moment, it is not possible to disregard the use of medicines.
Ma i farmaci costano! Costano moltissimo e ogni giorno Grégoire bussa alla porta di chiunque lo conosca chiedendo aiuto per poterli acquistare.
But drugs are expensive! Every day Grégoire knocks on the door of anyone he knows asking for help to buy medicines.
Ora Grégoire ha bisogno di tutti noi per ACQUISTARE URGENTEMENTE una fornitura di farmaci per oltre 10.000 persone attualmente ospiti dei centri di accoglienza e riabilitazione gestiti dall’Association Saint Camille de Lellis in Costa d’Avorio, Benin e Togo.
Now Grégoire needs all of us to URGENTLY BUY a supply of drugs for the over 10,000 people currently hosted in the Saint Camille rehabilitation centers in Ivory Coast, Benin and Togo.
Siamo convinti che al farmaco debba affiancarsi la cura del trauma, reale causa della malattia mentale, anche attraverso percorsi di inclusione sociale. Molti passi si stanno facendo in questo senso, ma è ancora altissimo il bisogno di farmaci per i pazienti della Saint Camille a cui sono distribuiti quasi gratuitamente per tutta la durata della malattia.
We are convinced that drugs must be accompanied by the treatment of trauma, which is often the main cause of mental illness. Social inclusion paths are essential and many steps are being taken in this direction, but the need for drugs is still very high, since Saint Camille patients receive their drug therapy almost for free throughout the whole duration of their illness.
E’ solo grazie a questa “politica della semi-gratuità” che le ricadute sono basse. I pazienti non se li possono permettere e, una volta tornati a casa, smetterebbero di assumerli!
It is only thanks to this "semi-gratuitous policy" that relapses are low. Patients can not afford to pay for medicines and if not supported, once back home they would stop taking them!
E’ per questo che Grégoire ha bisogno d’aiuto: per continuare a curare decine di migliaia di persone ogni giorno ed evitare, per quanto sia possibile, che ricadano nel baratro della follia.
This is why Grégoire needs help: to continue treating tens of thousands of people every day and to avoid, as far as possible, falling back into the abyss of mental illness.

Siamo “un pugno” di volontari che da un ventennio sostiene Grégoire e la Saint Camille de Lellis affinché quest’opera straordinaria di recupero umano continui e si diffonda anche in tutti gli altri Paesi dell’Africa che ancora non comprendono la malattia mentale.
We are a "handful" of volunteers who for two decades have supported Grégoire and Saint Camille de Lellis Association to allow that this extraordinary work of human recovery continues and spreads in all the other countries of Africa that do not yet understand mental illness.

OUR HISTORY
L’Associazione di Solidarietà Internazionale Jobel O.n.l.u.s. è un’Organizzazione di Volontariato costituita nel 2000 a San Vito al Torre (Ud) da una quindicina di soci guidati dal Presidente Don Paolo Luigi Zuttion che, per più di un decennio, è stato missionario Fidei Donum presso la città di Bouaké in Costa d’Avorio e ha avuto la possibilità di conoscere la drammatica realtà vissuta dalle persone con disagio psichico in questa zona dell’Africa e la condizione di vita delle donne e dei bambini.
The Jobel International Solidarity Association O.n.l.u.s. is a Volunteer Organization set up in 2000 in San Vito al Torre (Udine - Italy) by fifteen members led by its President Don Paolo Luigi Zuttion who, for more than a decade, was a Fidei Donum missionary at the town of Bouaké in Ivory Coast. There, he had the opportunity to learn about the dramatic reality experienced by people with mental health problems in this area of Africa and especially the difficult living conditions of affected women and children. Because of cultural beliefs, these persons are left by their families along city streets, or are chained to trees in the villages, or locked up in dark and unhealthy rooms for the rest of their lives.
Jobel è stata fondata a seguito di tale esperienza proprio per promuovere la liberazione, l’accoglienza e la reintegrazione sociale e lavorativa delle persone con problemi di salute mentale che le famiglie abbandonano nude lungo le strade delle città, legano con corde o catene agli alberi nei villaggi, o rinchiudono in stanze buie e malsane per il resto della vita, e per migliorare la condizione di vita delle donne e dei bambini.
Per realizzare il suo scopo prioritario Jobel in Italia realizza eventi di sensibilizzazione e di raccolta fondi per sostenere economicamente la costruzione di Centri di accoglienza e di cura, l’avvio di fattorie sociali, la fornitura di medicinali, di alimenti e la formazione di base degli operatori socio-sanitari in Costa d’Avorio, in Benin e attualmente anche in Togo.
Jobel was founded following this experience to promote the liberation, the welcoming, and the social and professional reintegration of people with mental health problems.
To achieve its purpose, Jobel raises awareness in Italy and organizes fundraising events to financially support the creation of care and rehabilitation centers, the set up of social farms, the supply of medicines and provides basic health training of social workers in Ivory Coast, Benin and currently also in Togo.
